Maynooth Hillwalking Club was established in 1998 to cater for the hillwalking interests of people in the North Kildare and Dublin areas.

The club walks most Sundays in the Dublin Wicklow mountains with occasional trips and weekends away to other parts of Ireland such as the Mourne Mountains, the Slieve Blooms, the Cooleys to name but a few.

Maynooth Hillwalking club members are members of the Mountaineering Council of Ireland and enjoy such benefits as: A Quarterly magazine - The Irish Mountain Log. Discounts in most outdoor shops and a variety of other related retailers.A personalised membership card (required for retailer discounts), Mountaineering Ireland insurance - mainly Civil Liability cover, includes Personal Accident cover for permanent injuries.

The club attracts a wide age range of walkers with most in the "middle-age" category.

Maynooth Hillwalking club has no child members.
