  • How do I become a member?

You must first complete two visitor walks, one of which must be a mountain walk.

    • Ask the leader for a membership form. They will give you details of where to send the form.
    • Membership runs from the 1st of November to the 31st of October (in line with Mountaineering Ireland membership.)
    •  If you already have Mountaineering Ireland membership with another club ask about “club only membership” which is at a reduced rate.
    • It takes a few weeks to process membership. You will receive a welcome email with the walks programme.
    • New members are eligible to come on “Moderate” walks (as well as visitor walks) and it is recommended to undertake a number of moderate walks before moving on to the harder ones. You can discuss this with the walk leader who will best advise you.

  • Do you do any mountaineering or rock climbing?

    • No. Maynooth Hillwalking Club conducts hillwalking and hikes only.
